He enlisted 21st August 1890 into Somerset light infantry.

Deserted 6th May 1891 ,convicted by courtmartial December 1891 and in prison until February 1892 .

Deserted again and confined 20th April 1892 ,convicted Jun 1892 .

Gibraltar April 1892 to October 1892 .

India October 1892 to 23rd October 1902 . took part in mohmand expedition being awarded his igs.

Discharged in Taunton January 1909 living at no 3 beasley cottage , cleverfield ,Windsor.
