Qsa with transvaal ,orange free state & Cape colony clasps & clear ghostdates.
Ksa with south Africa 1901 & 1902 clasps .
Edwin was born 1878 at Rolvenden in Kent,a farm labourer by occupation.
He lived at 68 Park Road, Cheriton, folkestone, Kent.
He enlisted at Canterbury 18th July 1899 into 1st Battalion East Kent regiment.
Edwin served in South Africa June 1900 to March 1902 .
He then served in India, Burma, India & Eden .
1907 company cook for 12 months .
He then served at home being mobilised 5th August 1914 and posted 6th August 1914.
He was killed in action on 18th October 1914 ,that day the 1st Battalion was in action near radinghem though he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial and the Rolvenden War memorial.
An early war casualty hopefully his ww1 medals are out there somewhere for a reunite .
