Correctly named 9514 Pte M Reardon Welsh Regt

Michael Reardon was born c1871. Two addresses held for him are 11 Lamb Lane, Glebeland, Merthyr Tydfil and 25 Chapel Street, Merthyr Tydfil.

A collier by trade, he enlisted into ‘F’ Company, 3rd (Militia) Bn Welsh Regiment in Merthyr in 1890. The medal has the clasps Transvaal and Cape Colony.

His son, 11042 Pte Michael Reardon of the South Wales Borderers was killed in action on the 28th of October 1914. He has no known grave and is remembered on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

The medal is mounted on a card for display with modern ribbon. Does come with some research.
