Albert Ambrose Arber was born in London in 1896 to Sydney and Catherine Arber.

In 1911, we see the family living at 26 Southampton Road, South Hampstead, London and we see Albert is still in school.

Research shows us Albert enlisted as a chauffeur in the British Red Cross/St JJ and served in France from  October 1916 until December earning himself a Pair.

His name is on a list of personnel with contracts cancelled.

He was then to enlist into the Royal Air Force. His record notes previous Army service. He served in the RAF as a driver. He served in France again, from April 1918 until November 1918, in theory, earning a WWI Pair.

He was discharged due to broken bones. His discharge date is in March 1919. He was awarded a Silver War Badge numbered RAF5543. Badge is present although the rear clasp has been removed.

After his discharge he returned to 26 Southampton Road and we see him as a full time student in 1921.

In 1922, he married Rose Clara Makins.

In 1939 we find him with his family living at 21 Mansfield Road, Kentish Town. He is working now as an electrician.

Albert died in 1982.
