He enlisted into the RMLI in August 1916 and embarked overseas in February 1917. His civilian trade is note as that of an electrical engineer.

He served at Vivid, President VI and HMS Revenge as part of the Plymouth Division.

We see he was granted discharge on compassionate grounds in July 1920.

He served with the RFR from September 1920 until September 1925.

In 1921 we find him addressed at 72 Brailford Road in Fallowfield, Wigan, with his parents and working again as an electrical engineer.

He married Amy Thompson in 1937.

In 1939, we find them living at 11 High Lane in Manchester where he is still an electrical engineer and registered as an Air Raid Warden.

He died in 1988.
