Sydney Ewart Dexter was born 21st May 1898 at Herne Hill , Surrey.

1911 52 silverleigh Road, Thornton heath , Surrey.

Served with 1/6th London regiment attached to B coy 2/6th London regiment .

1917 sick convoy no2 ambulance train with lumbago noted as serving 2 years at that time and aged 18 so possibly joined aged 16 .

Also served it 6th London regiment as 320350 .

1939 72 silverleigh Rd, Croydon a builders general foreman and city of London civil defence, demolition volunteer.

London gazette 30th July 1940 2nd Lieutenant ( 30615) 24th June 1940 Royal West Surrey Reg.

29th March 1941 transferred to Royal engineers.

Temporary captain 23rd June 1942 .

Temporary major 20th January 1945 .

Sydney died at Kingston upon Thames march 1992 aged approx 93 .
