Ww1 British War Medal mounted for display named to ch 20890 pte j a jennings rmli.

James Albert jennings was born 15th March 1898 at Bermondsey in London.

A cycle carrier by occupation he joined the Royal Marine Light Infantry ( Chatham division) 31st August 1916 .

He served on board hms Africa 10th September 1917 to 7th November 1918 at which point she was part of the 9th Cruiser Squadron at Sierra Leone during which period the ship was stuck Down with Spanish flu .

1921 census he was part of the Royal Marine garrison at lemnos ,Greece.

He is noted on his record discharged dead December 1927 .
