William Hugh gerard lowther was born 4th January 1886 .
Williams mic notes service with French army 10 – 1914
He enlisted in 23rd Battalion royal fusiliers and entered France 16th November 1915 as pte no 1687 .
He was commisioned 23rd July 1917 into the Royal Flying Corp.
serving at Denham in June 1917 then rock Hampton in August 1917 .
He was sent to the expeditionary force salonika in December 1917 it seems as a balloon officer with 16 wing .
promoted to lieut 1st April 1918 .
He was sent home and discharged with rank of lieut 5th September 1918 relinquishing his commission due to ill health contracted on active service .
He provided various addresses on his different documents as he moved around inc 2 addresses in Kensington Garden Square London w2 .

1939 Living by private means as Tromewood, Dover , Kent noted as a Special Constable.
He died aged 61 in Kent in October 1947 .
