Ww1 British War Medal on long original ribbon named to g 9390 pte f b Gill e kent r .

Frederick Bert Gill was born c1887 .

He landed in France 9th June 1916 serving with 6th battalion East Kent regt, the Buffs.

He was wounded early in somme offensive gunshot wounds to face and arm possibly during the actions at orvillers.

He died at 8,40pm at 13th stationary hospital due to wounds on 7th July 1916 .

Buried in boulogne Eastern cemetery.

His father James Gill lived at wattle corner ,stone ,near Ashford in Kent.
