Fredrick Henry hammon was born at West Ham, Essex 1897.

He enlisted in the Royal Navy as boy class 2 in November 1912 on hms impregnable.

Served on hms Essex 1st January 1914 until 2nd February 1916.

He served on board the seaplane tender hms pegasus 3rd December 1919 until 1st December 1921 and would have taken part in the evacuation of novorossiysk .
