Charles ephraim Lockwood was born 5th July 1887 at Ipswich.

He joined the 8th battalion Norfolk Regiment.

The 8th proceeded to France 25th July 1915 .

He was killed in action on 17th February 1917 during the 1st day of the Battle of the Ancre.

Charles is buried at grave no c43 at stump Road cemetery, grandcourt , (somme). France.

His widow Agnes violet lived with their 3 children at 44 mission Rd, Diss, Norfolk.
