Arthur Walter Mathew’s was born 9th December 1890 at clerkenwell.

A porter by occupation he enlisted in 1910.

He was serving at the Royal Naval Air Service station at wormwood scrubs when he was severely injured in an explosion in a airship hanger 28th July 1915 .

He was later discharged due to multiple burns recieved at wormwood scrubs.

1939 living at 15 Norton Road, letchworth, Herts.

He died July 1960 at hitchen in Hertfordshire.

2 Royal Navy sailors died in the accident and 9 were injured inc Mathew’s.
