Correctly named 38417 GNR RCG Brookes RFA

Robert Cecil Gerald Brookes was born in Claverley, Shropshire c1890, the son of Charles and Eleanor.

He served with the 51st Battery in the 223rd Brigade and went to France 3/9/1915.

He is reported with Pyrexia (temperature) in September 1916.

He suffered from malaria and sent to the County of Middlesex War Hospital in 1917.

He married Daisy Elizabeth Dean in 1921. In 1939, he found living at 157 Jamage Road, Kidsgrove, Staffordshire and working as an engine driver.

He died in Tunstall in 1973
