Reginald Glanville Burt was born in Marsfield, Gloucestershire in 1894 to Isaac and Elizabeth.

In 1911, we find the family living at ‘The School House’, Churcham, Bully near Gloucester.

Reginald enlisted into the Royal Field Artillery, South Midland (Gloster) in March 1913.

He was sent overseas to France in March 1915 and served with the 3rd Battery RFA.

Whilst in France, he received a gunshot wounding to his right sholuder in September 1917.

Shortly after in December 1917, he transferred to the 977th Company Army Service Corps with a new service number M/353816.

An address found on his MIC is noted as Lothian Hiuse, Stroud Road, Gloucester.

Post war, in 1921, we see he is living at ‘Howarths Croft’, Henrietta Street, Leigh, Lancashire and is now an engineering student.

He is listed on the UK Register of employees of the East India Company in 1926 as Assistant Director of Inspections, Government of India.

He married Christina Smail in 1929.

He was awarded the civil MBE in January 1944 with the awarded gazetted on 31/12/1943. His job description is noted as Assistant controller/general.

Reginald died in Chatham, Kent in 1971.

All medals have original silk ribbons with the MBE retaining its clasp for wear.

During our research, we were able to find a picture of Reginald.
