Correctly named Major FWC Brown
Frederick William Campbell Brown was born to David and Jessie in Forres, Moray, Scotland in 1892.
His father being a bank agent, we find the family in 1901 living at B L C Bank House, High Street, Forres, Moray, Scotland
After attending Aberdeen University and becoming a doctor, Frederick was commissioned into the Royal Army Medical as a Lieutenant in August 1915 and is seen to have been sent to the 1st Scottish General Hospital.
He was sent to Egypt in April 1916 when he earned himself a Pair.
He was later posted to France and in in July 1918 was Mentioned in Dispatches. His MIC denotes 2 emblems. Also in 1918, he is recorded as being Deputy Assistant Director of Medical Services, RAMC, War Office, Commands and Staff.
He was to receive the OBE (Military) in 1919. He is also on the roll of service for Aberdeen University.
At the time of discharge, his address is noted as Chepstow House, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire.
In 1939, we see he is now married to Williamina and living at ‘The Grange’ Grange Road, Hyde, Cheshire. He is also Assistant Sub Controller ARP for Cheshire County Council so possibly he earned himself a Defence Medal.
Frederick died in 1971 and is buried at Hyde Cemetery, Cheshire.
We would suggest his full entitlement would be OBE (Mily) WWI Pair with Defence Medal.
