Correctly named 6604 Pte H Grogan RW Fus

Born in 1879 to Patrick and Mary in Shrewsbury. An address found for him in 1911 is 33 Mount Street, Wrexham.

Henry enlisted in May 1915 and was sent overseas to France in October 1915 earning himself a 1915 Star Trio. His occupation is noted as that of brewers labourer and that of a leather worker.

He served with the 8th Battalion. He was wounded by gunshot in the left arm on the 4th of July 1916. his records states he served in France for 8 months before being sent to Mesopotamia for the next 2 years.

He was dischrged from service in June 1916.

In 1939, still a bachelor, he is seen to be boarding at 34 Maple Avenue in Wrexham and is still working as a brewers labourer.

He died in 1941 and is buried at Wrexham Cemetery.

The medal has an original silk ribbon.
