Correctly named 36536 Pte A Scott HLI
Adam was born in 1892 and hailed from Parkhead in Glasgow.
He was serving with the 10/11th Battalion Highland Light Infantry when on the 22nd of March 1918, he was reported missing.
On the 21st, they had left camp at Ervillers and proceeded in the afternoon to Vraucourt. On the morning of the 22nd, they were made aware of German attacks against the 14th Bn Argylls to their right front and that they had started to fall back. The decision was made to form a defensive flank on the Ecoust to Buegnatre road. While undertaking this, many of the allied troops were in dis-array and found it difficult to reach the road due to large German numbers.
He was captured on the 22nd and it is recorded that he was wounded, walking with a slight lean as had injuries to his muscles and loin.
An address found for Adam is noted as 726 Great Eastern Road, Parkhead, Glasgow and his mother, Mrs E Scott has the address of 258 Paisley Road in Glasgow.
He had also served with the Royal Army Medical Corps with the service number 160503.
He is entitled to a Pair.
The medal has a modern replacement ribbon.
