Named Archibald James Wilkin

Born in 1889 to Henry and Mary Ann, he was a house painter before his enlistment.

In 1911, we find him living at 8 Paynters Terrace, Head Road, Halstead, Essex.

He served with the 17th (1st Football) Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment and was killed in action in the 28th of November 1917.

The 17th Bn were involved at the Battle of Cambrai, 20 November – 7 December 1917.

He is buried at Hermies Hill British Cemetery in France.
