Correctly named pair 27704 Pte J Jones Chesh R

Jack Quartus Mosuit Jones served with the 16th (Bantam) Bn of the Cheshire Regiment.

Research tells us that he was injured both in left and and seriously in the foot by gunshot.

He had two other service numbers with the Cheshires, 80754 and 55461.

We see him in the absent voters list for 1918 living at 32 Sheppard Strteet in Crewe.

Further research is scarce but a look at the 39 Register fro 32 Sheppard Street in Crewe brings up John Jones, born October 1878.

The Defence Medal came with the pair as well as the King Albert Belgian Veterans Medal. We can neither confirm or deny the awards of these to Jack.

All medals have original silk ribbons.
