Correctly named M2-031670 Pte LF Wood ASC
Lancelot Frederick Wood was born in 1886. We see he pre war living at Eastdrop Grange, Highworth, Wilts.
He entered service and went to France in January 1915 earning himself his Trio.
In 1916, he married Winnie Agnes Racey
Although originally posted to France in the January of 1915, he was sent to Mesopotamia in April 1916 and later invalided to the UK suffering Malaria. He returned to France in December 1916.
He was employed as a lorry driver with the ASC, his civilian trade was also a motor driver. He served with the 35th Mobile Workshop ASC attached to the Army Ordnance Corps.
He became Class Z in April 1919.
In 1939, we find him living at Swindon Street, Highworth, Wilts. Lancelo
The Star and Victory medals have modern ribbon but the BWM does have a length of original silk ribbon sewn to it.
