Correctly named 14432Pte G Craig Linc R

Born in Leicester in 1894, we find George in 1911 living at 25 Highgate, Cleethorpes and working as a trimmer aboard a steam fishing trawler.

He is entitled to 1915 Star Trio and went overseas to France with the 1st Garrison Battalion.
We see in June 1915 he was suffering from shock but later returned to duty. It is also noted he was 32 and had 8 years previous service, presumably in the Militia.
A wound report is noted dated August 1916.

In 1921, records show us he is still living at Highgate and now working as a coal weaver for William Grant, Trawler Owner.

He married Elizabeth Trafford.
In 1939, he is now living at 46 Grantham Avenue in Grimsby and working as a coal hoist operator. He is also a serving Special Constable.

The medal has a modern replacement ribbon.
