Correctly named Major HM Vickers

Herbert Maxwell Vickers was born to Herbert and Elizabeth in 1883 in Sweet River, Westmoreland, Cornwall County, Jamaica.

He married Kathleen Harte in 1900 in Edinburgh.

The following year, 1901, he began his medical training at Edinburgh University.

He qualified as a master of medicine and surgery. (Mb/ChB)

He served in France from January 1916 earning himself a WWI Pair.

He was mentioned in dispatches LG 8/7/1919 whilst serving with the 47th Field Ambulance.

47th Field Ambulance served under the 14th & 15th Scottish Division, raised in 1914 as part of Kitcheners New Armies.

Post war he worked at Edenhall Neurological Hospital in Mussleborough, Edinburgh.

An address found for him is noted as 34 Home Street, Edinburgh.

He had later moved to Acre Close, Boundary Road in Worthing.

He died in 1965.
