George Henry Oakley served with the 12th Bn London Regiment, the 10th (service) Battalion of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers with the service number 43319 then lastly with the 1st & 2nd Bns Royal Munster Fusiliers with the service number 18433.

He was discharged in March 1920.

In May 1919, after returning to England, the 1st Royal Munster Fusiliers absorbed the 3rd Royal Munster Fusiliers at Plymouth. It left for Silesia in September 1921, returning the following April to be disbanded in July 1922, ending a history going back 250 years. The 2nd Royal Munster Fusiliers served in Egypt from November 1919 to May 1922, returning for demobilization and disbandment in July 1922.

He is entitled to a Pair.

The medal has a short length of original silk ribbon.
