Correctly named 71953 Dvr HT Ward RHA

Horace Thomas Ward was born to Amelia and Frederick in 1888.

He married Nellie Maud Mottram in 1911 where we find him living at 71 Finch Road, Handsworth.

Another address recorded for him is 18 Linwood Road in Handsworth.

He was sent overseas to France on the 14th of December 1914.

Horace contracted influenza whilst on active service and succumbed to his illness on the 29th of November 1918 whilst with the 14th Brigade.

He is buried at Le Quesnot Communal Cemetery Extension in France.

The medal has a modern replacement ribbon.
