The 75th sqd 18th battalion were sharp shooters raised in December 1899 and they joined the Rhodesian Field Force April 1900 .

Robert j Foggin there are 2 on the English census father and son we believe due to the age of the father and the fact he is on the 1901 census and his son is not that Robert Jr is thd recipient .

Robert j Foggin Sr was born 1849 at Higher leaver , Yorkshire.

A black Smith by occupation.

Robert j Foggin Jr was born 1879 at high leaver ,Yorkshire.

We could not find him on the  1901 census ( as in South Africa) .

1911 he is married and a railway engine fireman .

Living at 76 Camden St,  Stockton on tees .

 

Worthy of futhur research a nice rank to a good unit .
