Born in 1891 to James and Charlotte in Merton, Surrey, Albert James was to enlist into the Royal Navy in 1909. His civilian trade noted as inshore fisherman.
In 1911, we see him based in the Mediterranean.
Of the many ships he served on, one was HMS Agamemnon which was present at the Dardanelles Campaign where it assisted with the amphibious landings.
She was hit 8 times during the campaign.
Abert married Mary Ann Tompkinson in Grimsby in 1919.
Albert stayed with the Royal Navy, transferring to the Royal Fleet Reserve in 1926.
Both medals have modern replacement ribbons.
Albert is entitled to a 1915 Trio with his LSGC.
