Correctly named 15748 Pte HA Mallett Suff R
Harry Arthur Robert Mallett was born in November 1895 to Arthur and Emma.
In 1911, we see him working as a farm hand and living with his family at Bonds Corner, Ipswich Road, Grundisburg, Suffolk.
He served firstly with the 9th Bn Suffolks and went overseas to France with them in October 1915.
The 9th, after October 1915 saw action at the Battle of Flur Courcelette, The Battle of Morval, Battle of Le Transloy and finally at Hill 70 at Cambrai.
Harry married Dora Gladys Gibbs in 1917.
In 1921, we find them living at 6 Station Road in Harwich and Harry is working as a quay labourer for GER.
In 1939, Harry is now working as a checker for L&NER and living at 5 Tower Hill in Harwich.
Harry died in 1966.
The medals are swing mounted on original ribbons as worn although the 1915 Star ribbon has become detached as the ribbon is quite threadbare.
