Correctly named Capt BG Donne RA

Brian George Donne was born to Ernest and Emily in London in 1889.

In 1911, we see him studying as a chemistry student and living with his parents at 10 Oakdale Road in Streatham.

He first enlisted into the Army Service Corps with the service number 020990 and reached the rank of sergeant.

He was posted to France in December 1914 earning himself a 1915 Star Trio.

He gained his commission into the Royal Artillery in April 1915.

We see he was admitted to the Freedom of the City of London by patrimony, the company of habidashers and an address given for him is noted as 5 Madeira Road in Streaham.

He was awarded his IGS with the 77th Battery RA in 1920.

In 1921 he is seen to be working as an engineering chemist.

He married Edna Wilson in 1929.

By 1939, he is living at ‘The Holt’ Woking, Surrey and is now the managing director of an electrical installation company.

He died in 1950.
